Myths & Legends
by J.K. Jackson Editor
This book compiles many legends from eight different traditions — some Native American tribes, Chinese, Celtic, Scottish, Greek, Norse/Viking, Indian, and various African cultures. From creation myths, struggles between good and evil forces, this book will be a good primer to the many stories that have informed and continue to inform literary and storytelling canons of today. It will reach to the past — for example it will look into the Greek Pantheon but also look at many of the proto-Greek mythology that existed before legends were formalized, even though myth variations have always existed. Through this, the reader will learn about how divinity came to explain natural phenomena and the unexplainable. While many of these mythologies developed some themes independently, there are running commonalities for the reader to weave together.
