Incandescent: A color film zine: Issue Nine

 "Incandescent" is a bi-annual international zine showcasing emerging photographers with full-color photography put out by Pine Island Press.

Issue Nine - Winter 2016

This issue of our favorite new photo zine collection features soft, quiet images of nostalgia and reflection, slow exchanges, and in-between moments. It asks us to pause, and consider each photo for what it is meant to save, to set aside and hold on to for later, and what has perhaps been lost, or gained, in the moments we do not see.

From the Introduction, "To See and To Save":

"A powerful photograph is rarely just about what is captured in the frame. With photography as well as memory, our minds and guts give little credence to composition or color balance alone. Though each image is beautiful, there was also that other something, that sense of arresting connection..."
