An Elder's Guide to Plywood City
by Moe Bowstern Foreword, Sharita Towne Author and Nicole Donisi Author
Since June, 2020, businesses in downtown Portland have been putting plywood over their windows, and artists have been using this as a canvas for powerful, beautiful homages and calls to action that Black Lives Matter. This full-color zine shows the murals memorializing Black individuals who were murdered by the police and gives a short background on each one, as well as some history of the murals. The zine, like the murals, is an art object as meaningful as it is well-designed.
