Hønsestrikk

by Fiona Avocado Author

Hønsestrikk is a type of narrative knitting that came out of Denmark in the 1970s. By creating a politically and socially relevant story out of the yarn woven into their sweaters and by using bright colors, women drew attention to the feminist issues that felt most relevant at the time and built power through a collective art practice. Hønsestrikk is still practiced by knitters today.
