Patch #134Posada Zapatista
by Jose Posada Author
José Posada was a Mexican engraver and illustrator, who worked for a local newspaper and the Mexico City publishing firm of Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, creating various book covers and illustrations. Much of his satirical art was published in broadsides and after his death, his images have become associated with the holiday Día de los Muertos, the "Day of the Dead." Posada died in obscurity but in the 1920s, his engravings were brought to a wider audience by French artist Jean Charlot. While Posada died in poverty, his images are well known folk art.
These screen-printed canvas patches have rough cut edges and come in a multitude of colors (we'll choose for you!).
