The Violet Ascension Tarot Deck

Taking its name from the artist Rhienna Renée Guedry's favorite color and the place of her Cajun ancestors (Ascension Parish, located in Louisiana), this deck of Tarot cards is portrays a love of animals, human invention, non-violent beliefs, southern ancestry, and the queer perspective. The Violet Ascension deck includes detailed illustrations of manatees, snakes, owls, hawks, watch towers, flasks, circus rides, and many, many more. Most illustratrations remain black-and-white while the backgrounds provide bright and simple color pallets. Rhienna Renée Guedry, the Portland-based artist, offers her fresh take on the tradition of tarot card decks: a tool for find your way through the unknown future.
