Portland Made: The Makers of Portland's Manufacturing Renaissance
by with Peggy Acott and Kelley Roy Author
Portland, Oregon is full of "makers"—people who make a living creating artisan products by hand or in small-batch, local manufacturing. A couple dozen values-based small-to-medium-sized businesses that craft a wide variety of goods are profiled here. Bullseye Glass, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, Portland Razor Company, Stonebarn Brandyworks, Indow (they make windows), and more are showcased here, along with businesses that help other makers get off the ground, like a bicycle industry trade school, a sewn goods factory, and a maker space. Celebrates Portland and some of the people who make it special.
