I'm a vegan and I agree with Lunar. I'm not inherently against the consumption of animals by humans. What I'm against is factory farming, which forces animals to spend their entire lives in horrifically cruel circumstances for the sake of maximizing profit.
But I was downright amazed by unhalfero's comment: "If I don't eat the meat, then a cow died in vain." Seriously? How is it that so many people living in capitalist societies don't even have an understanding of the concept of supply and demand?
While I don't eat meat now, there are a lot of indigenous tribes who do. I think that a lot of vegans forget that when they sprout their holier than thou rhetoric. Remember that most big name vegans are first world where they can buy proceesed vegan food at will.
I'm more opposed to ending minds.
"I don't eat anything that has babies"
Makhno, do you know of any plants with central nervous systems?
Right. Animals only exist for our use.. Fucking privileged asshole.
Why is everyone freaking out about meat being murder? If anything, bitch about how meat marketing abuses their meat sources such as KFC genetically altering chickens to have 6 legs. I just feel that if I don't eat the meat, then a cow died in vain.
So is dead vegetable material. How do you convincingly argue for a particular ontological heirarchy?
