The Whalemaster

A boy rescued from the sea must learn the ways of life on a whaling ship, hunting the world's largest animal. As he learns, he begins to be haunted by confusing visions of a whale seeking revenge. Eventually they reach an island full of pirates, where his memories will return and he learns what courage and strength are really all about. Inspired by Moby Dick, this middle reader novel is perfect for 9-12 year olds who dream of adventure on the high seas, with black-and-white illustrations showing maps, types of whales, and what life on a whaling vessel would have looked like.
