Homicide (Volume 1)

by David Simon Author and Philippe Squarzoni Illustrator

Homicide, the classic true-crime book by HBO’s The Wire creator, is reimagined in this first volume of a gritty graphic novel duology.

In 1988, journalist David Simon gained unprecedented access to the Baltimore Police Department’s homicide unit. Over a year, he shadowed detectives solving numerous killings in a city where they were common. Only the most heinous cases stood out, especially the rape and murder of eleven-year-old Latonya Wallace.

Originally published in 1991, Homicide inspired the acclaimed TV show Homicide: Life on the Streets and HBO’s The Wire. Now, it’s reimagined as a gritty two-part graphic novel series.
