DogTown: The Legend of the Z-Boys
by C R Stecyk Afterword and Glen E Friedman Photographer
A new edition of an iconic skateboarding book, with new photography and a postscript, this book documents the history of the art and sport — starting in the early 70s after a decade of widespread popularity decline but a great time in experimentation. By the mid 70s the Z-boys, a group of surfers that took their footwork on the water back to the land, began taking skate competition and the cultural world of skating for a ride. This book chronicles through photography that era as it originally appeared in SkateBoarder Magazine, and through the film of C.R. Stecyk III. This edition comes with more photos than its predecessor, featuring over 300 photographs in black and white.
