This version of history comics teaches about two women who stood up against segregation, the iconic and brave Rosa Parks and Claudette Colvin, the first who refused to give up her place on a bus on the basis of her skin and lesser known teenager who planted the seeds of the seeds of the statewide boycott — both arrested for their efforts against injustice.This graphic novel, marketed to ages 8-12, teaches about the valor and effort, risk and sacrifice these women put into their efforts, will teach about how youth can also impart change with single defiant acts.
