After Black Lives Matter: Policing and Anticapitalist Struggle

by Cedric G. Johnson Author

This is a work that takes a look at the Black Lives Matter movement, especially in the days following George Floyd’s death and the proceeding protests, events, and actions. This book suggests that the movement failed to underpin the central issue in the crisis of policing, that is socioeconomic inequality. This book also takes the position that contemporary policing has turned from being preoccupied with welfare to utilizing domestic warfare to regulate the marginalized, excluded, and oppressed in our society.
