Blade Runner 2049: The Storyboards

by Sam Hudecki Author

In 1982, Blade Runner revolutionized depictions of the future, in cinema, establishing the Cyberpunk movement. Director Denis Villeneuve further explored this unique “future noir” world in Blade Runner 2049, following a young blade runner who discovers a long-buried secret and tracks down Rick Deckard, the protagonist of the first film.

This book celebrates the rarely-seen artwork that built the harsh yet strangely beautiful environments in the film. It presents a fresh look at the film, including altered or cut scenes, and new commentary from storyboard artists Sam Hudecki and Darryl Henley.
