Bloody Business (Hard Case Crime)

by Dylan Struzan Author

This book of crime fiction explores the advent of the Prohibition Era in the US and develops a narrative that follows the story of the Mob’s rise to power during this time. The plot follows Vincent "Jimmy Blue Eyes" Alo — who is only 15 at this time — chronicling the decade to come through his encounters in the world of bootlegging, murder, and thievery. In the making of this book, the author compiled over 50 hours of interviews with Jimmy, containing information shared with the condition that it wouldn’t be publish until after he was dead. Two months after the interviews, Alo passed away and his story could be shared with the world: a story full of violence, crime, intrigue, hunger, pride and hubris. Aside from this riveting story, readers will gain a sense of how legislation was a driver to the creation of organized crime as we know it today.
