We Can't Stop Thinking About The Future (Strange Attractor Press)
by Aleksandra Mir Author
This book shares author Alexandra Mir’s work of art Space Tapestry: Faraway Missions, with reproductions of the finished work and images from its collaborative creation with twenty-five young artists. Inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and the anonymous artists who depicted Halley’s Comet in 1066, Space Tapestry is a large-scale, hand-drawn monochrome wall-hanging that immerses the viewer in a visual story of space travel. Mir has engaged with professionals in the space industry and academia, drawing on themes related to current debates, recorded events, scientific discoveries, technological innovations, and imagined futures.
The book includes reproductions of the finished work, images from its collaborative creation, and sixteen in-depth interviews with space industry professionals, providing an intimate and informative look at the present and future of space exploration.
