Reggie, My Rhinoceros: A gentle children's book on grief

by Werner Holzwarth Author and Mehrdad Zaeri Author

Best friends, Hopper the oxpecker and Reggie the rhino, lived happily together, sharing delicious flies and protection from danger. As Reggie aged, he prepared Hopper for life without him, reminiscing about their adventures and teasing nicknames. However, Hopper’s tendency to exaggerate caused some amusement. As Reggie passed away, Hopper took flight to find his own path. When he met new oxpeckers, he eagerly shared stories of his rhinoceros, recounting the time Reggie chased off three, or perhaps three hundred, sneaky lions. This book was written for children around ages 4 to 8 on encountering grief.
