Would It Kill You to Stop Doing That?: A Modern Guide to Manners
by Henry Alford Author
Henry Alford set out to write this work, appalled by what he perceived to be an anomic society, lacking in norms, in his day to day life in New York City. As part of this writing endeavor, he became a tour guide for foreigners around the Big Apple as to document their reactions and opinions to the appalling behaviors in NYC. In his own dry yet warm condescension, Alford aims to entertain and present a viewpoint and case about how we could stand to be a bit more civil to one another. Alford is a regular contributor to publications such as NPR and Vanity Fair.
