Letters to Santa Claus: The Elves

by The Elves Author, Emily Weisner Thompson Author and Pat Koch Author

For over a century, both children and adults have jotted down their wants, needs, and dreams at Christmas time, and mailed the letters to the North Pole. Millions of letters arrived: not in the North Pole, but in a small town called Santa Claus, Indiana. The letters are honest and ask for a myriad of things, from snow to food for their children. One girl tells Santa that she has not hit her brothers over 1,350 times that year, and another requests two million dollars in "cold cash." An adult woman asks Santa for a man, and another threatens the lives of the reindeer. With more than 250 letters collected since the 1930s, Letters to Santa Claus will be a book you want to read every holiday season.

“It's one of those zines that you read and wish it came as a freebie with the local paper so people outside the zine-nerd community could get exposed to it. ... this one's absolutely inspiring.”
