Throughout the 20th century, Europe and North America saw a resurgence in occultism — including an interest in witchcraft, notably in the middle of the century. The most well-known of these traditions is Wicca, which many consider a religion nowadays depending on which one of it’s various manifestations. There were, however, very many lesser-known practices that resurged and thrived in the shadows of the mid-1900s. Grouped together, these are informally known as Traditional Witchcraft — often associated with Western Europe and Colonial America.
